Designova® — Legal
End User Licence Agreement
1. Parties and Acceptance
This End User Licence Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you, the purchaser ("Licensee"), and Hexalogica Ltd ("Licensor", "Designova") governing your use of the font software and associated typeface designs (the "Fonts") purchased through the Designova website at designovafonts.com.
By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using the Fonts, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If you do not agree, do not purchase, download, install, or use the Fonts.
2. Grant of Licence
Designova grants the Licensee a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Fonts in accordance with the licence category selected at the time of purchase. The scope of use is determined by the licence category set out in Section 3.
All licences are perpetual and do not expire. All licences are non-exclusive — Designova retains the right to licence the same Fonts to other parties. A licence covers all projects within the scope of its category for the licensed entity; the Licensee is not charged per project.
3. Licence Categories
The following licence categories are available. The Licensee may use the Fonts only within the scope of the category purchased at checkout. Each category is designed for a specific class of use; if your intended use exceeds the scope of your current licence, an upgrade is required (see Section 4).
3.1 Combo Licence (Desktop + Web)
Grants one authorised user the right to install and use the Fonts for desktop design work, and to embed the Fonts on a single website with unlimited monthly page views.
3.2 Desktop Licence
Grants one authorised user the right to install and use the Fonts for desktop design work, including graphics, branding, and visual content creation.
3.3 Web Licence (Basic)
Grants the Licensee the right to embed the Fonts on a single website with up to 50,000 monthly page views.
3.4 Web Licence (Unlimited)
Grants the Licensee the right to embed the Fonts on a single website with unlimited monthly page views.
3.5 eBook Licence
Grants the Licensee the right to embed the Fonts within a single digital book, eBook title, or publication project.
3.6 App / Game Licence
Grants the Licensee the right to embed the Fonts within a single application, game, or software product.
3.7 Studio Licence
Grants unlimited projects, websites, and users within a single organisation. SaaS platforms, tools, builders, and embedded systems require an Enterprise Commercial Licence.
3.8 Broadcast Licence
Grants the Licensee the right to use the Fonts in film, television, streaming, and media productions, including unlimited campaigns and distribution within a single company, studio, broadcaster, or production organisation.
3.9 Enterprise Commercial Licence (ECL)
Grants unlimited users, projects, websites, applications, and commercial deployments within a single organisation, including SaaS platforms, tools, builders, embedded systems, and large-scale deployments. Enterprise Commercial Licences may be accompanied by separately negotiated commercial terms. Where those terms conflict with this EULA, the negotiated agreement takes precedence.
File formats included with each licence category are detailed on the typeface product page and at checkout. Desktop licences provide installable font files; web licences provide embeddable web font files; categories that combine desktop and web usage include both.
4. Licence Upgrades
If the Licensee's intended use exceeds the scope of the licence category purchased, the Licensee must upgrade to the appropriate category before commencing that use. Upgrades are available by contacting the studio at hello@designovafonts.com.
Upgrade pricing is determined by Designova at the time of the upgrade request. The upgraded licence replaces the original and is subject to the terms of this EULA.
5. Permitted Uses
Subject to the licence category purchased, the Licensee may:
- Use the Fonts for commercial and personal projects within the scope of the licence category
- Install the Fonts on the number of workstations permitted by the licence category
- Embed the Fonts in websites, applications, digital publications, or media productions as permitted by the licence category
- Make backup copies of the Fonts for archival purposes
- Temporarily embed the Fonts in documents, presentations, or files shared with third parties, provided the recipient cannot extract or install the Fonts for independent use
6. Restrictions
The Licensee may NOT:
- Transfer, assign, sublicense, rent, lease, lend, or resell the Fonts or this licence to any third party
- Distribute, share, or make the Fonts available through any service, platform, or repository that enables unlicensed third parties to access, extract, or install the Fonts
- Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the Fonts for redistribution or resale as a competing font product
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the glyph data or source code from the Fonts for the purpose of creating a derivative font product
- Use the Fonts beyond the scope of the licence category purchased without first upgrading
- Register the Font Software itself, or substantially unmodified glyphs from the Fonts, as a trademark, trade name, or service mark without Designova's prior written permission
Licences are valid for the purchasing entity only and are non-transferable.
7. Intellectual Property
All Fonts, typeface designs, and associated intellectual property remain the exclusive property of Designova® Ltd. This EULA grants a licence to use the Fonts; it does not transfer ownership of the Fonts or any intellectual property rights.
8. Font Updates
Designova may, at its discretion, release updates, bug fixes, or enhancements to the Fonts. Licensees are entitled to download such updates free of charge for the licence category they have purchased, where available. Updates do not constitute a new licence and are subject to the terms of this EULA.
9. Refunds
Font licences are digital goods. Refund eligibility is set out in the Designova Refund Policy, available at designovafonts.com/refund. The Refund Policy forms part of this EULA by reference.
10. Term and Termination
This EULA is effective from the date of purchase and remains in effect perpetually, unless terminated as provided herein.
Designova may terminate this EULA immediately if the Licensee breaches any of its terms. Upon termination, the Licensee must cease all use of the Fonts and destroy all copies in their possession or control.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Fonts are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Designova does not warrant that the Fonts are free from defects or that they will meet the Licensee's specific requirements.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Designova shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of the Fonts. Designova's total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the Licensee for the Fonts.
13. General Provisions
Governing Law: This EULA is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Severability: If any provision of this EULA is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement: This EULA, together with the purchased licence category and the Designova Refund Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding the Fonts.
Amendments: Designova reserves the right to update this EULA. The version in effect at the time of purchase governs the Licensee's use.
Contact: For questions regarding this EULA, contact Designova at hello@designovafonts.com.
